Adding it to your site
How do I add this to my site?
Pick where your site is built — here are the exact clicks.
- In your Wix dashboard, open Edit Site.
- Click the + Add Elements button on the left, then choose Embed Code → Embed HTML (the "Custom Embeds" section).
- Drag the HTML iframe / Embed a Widget box to your header area, then click Enter Code.
- Paste your one-line embed (from step 2 above) and click Update.
- Hit Publish — your live-wait badge is now on the site.
Prefer no code? Add the bio link (step 3) to a
Button element instead — set its link to your live-wait URL.- Open your site editor and go to the page or header where you want the wait shown.
- Click an insert point (the +) and add a Code block.
- Set the block to HTML, then paste your one-line embed from step 2.
- Click Apply, then Save.
- For a site-wide badge, add it under Settings → Advanced → Code Injection → Header instead.
Code blocks need a paid Squarespace plan. On the free trial, use the bio link (step 3) on a Button block.
- From admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- On your live theme click … → Edit code.
- Open Layout → theme.liquid.
- Paste your one-line embed just before the closing
</header>tag (or before</body>to load it site-wide). - Click Save.
No-code option: Online Store → Navigation, or add a Button in the theme customizer, linking to your bio link from step 3.
- In the WordPress editor, open the page/post, or go to Appearance → Widgets for the header/footer.
- Add a Custom HTML block.
- Paste your one-line embed from step 2 into the block.
- Click Update / Publish.
- For every page, use a header/footer plugin (e.g. "Insert Headers and Footers") and paste it once there.
On WordPress.com free plans custom HTML is limited — use the bio link (step 3) as a menu or button link instead.
- Open Instagram and go to your profile, then tap Edit profile.
- Tap Links → Add external link.
- Paste your live-wait bio link (step 3) in the URL field.
- Give it a title like "Check the wait / join the line" and tap Done.
- Mention it in a Story highlight so regulars know to check before they come in.
Using a link-in-bio tool (Linktree, Beacons)? Add your bio link there as a new button titled "Live wait".
- Scroll up to Step 1 and click Download QR (or Print poster for a ready-made sign).
- Print it — counter card, window sticker, or a frame by the mirror work best.
- Add a line of text: "Scan to see the wait & join the line." (the poster already includes this.)
- That's it — no website needed. The QR opens your live-wait page directly.
- After a cut, the same page shows the one-tap review link.
The door QR is the fastest way to go live — most shops start here and add the website badge later.
